The Bean Counters Bookkeeping Receives 2013 Best of Savannah Award
Savannah Award Program Honors the Achievement
SAVANNAH December 11, 2013 -- The Bean Counters Bookkeeping has been selected for the 2013 Best of Savannah Award in the Bookkeeping category by the Savannah Award Program.
Each year, the Savannah Award Program identifies companies that we believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and our community. These exceptional companies help make the Savannah area a great place to live, work and play.
Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2013 Savannah Award Program focuses on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the Savannah Award Program and data provided by third parties.

The Independent Learning Network, Inc. (ILN) is a support network for independent learners and their families in Coastal Georgia. ILN was established to address the need for alternative educational options in the region and is dedicated to the academic excellence of home-based learners in academic levels 3-12.
The idea for ILN began with Maria Williams and Celeste Martin Nathan having a conversation in which both women bemoaned the state of education, not just in Savannah, but also in the Coastal Georgia region. The level of student apathy alarmed both women so they decided to create an organization that would help students from all educational backgrounds. Maria and Celeste began meeting weekly to hash out the mission statement, their individual roles and the overall structure of ILN.
The services offered by ILN are recommended for home based and other non-conventional learners, learners with exceptional needs, at-risk learners, homeschooling parents who seek additional support and families requiring a specific, individual service such as tutoring or testing. Specific services include, but are not limited to, academic record review, academic testing, portfolio development, lesson plan assistance, state-required documentation and parent-teacher workshops.
ILN has also established a resource center located at 7160 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Suite 101, for the purpose of providing information and support to area homeschooling families. The center has many resources and a knowledgeable staff to help home-based learners and their families.
The establishment of the resource center will allow ILN to continue to build its volunteer base, especially among parents and home school enthusiasts. The center is beginning with many resources, but there are always needs at the center. To volunteer with ILN or contribute to items on the center’s “wish list” contact ILN through the website www.iln-ga.org or by phone at 912-355-7557.
